Job Description
Summary: The National Hockey League (NHL) is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Analyst Intern to join their security team for the 2026 Summer Internship Program. This internship offers hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, and security analysis while working alongside experienced professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring security alerts and events using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms and other security tools
- Assisting with the analysis and investigation of potential security incidents and threats
- Supporting vulnerability management activities, including scanning, assessment, and remediation tracking
- Participating in security awareness initiatives and helping develop educational materials for employees
- Conducting research on emerging threats, attack techniques, and security trends
- Assisting with security documentation, including updating policies, procedures, and runbooks
- Supporting compliance activities and helping maintain security control evidence
- Contributing to security projects such as tool evaluations, process improvements, or security assessments
- Learning and applying security frameworks and best practices in real-world scenarios
- Access entitlement reviews
Required Qualifications:
- Foundational knowledge of networking concepts, operating systems, and security principles
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in an accredited university/college pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately
