Manufacturing Engineer - Intern

They are seeking an Engineering Intern to support various technical projects that contribute to national security missions while enhancing their skill set in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities: - Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country - The position provides an opportunity to work on projects that support some of our nation’s fundamental defense services - Work with collaborative teams on various technical projects associated with our core mission - Enhance their skill set by working among a talented and technically accomplished group of colleagues Required Qualifications: - Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher - U.S. citizenship is required Preferred Qualifications: - Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks), ERP systems, and statistical analysis tools - Strong ability to read and interpret engineering prints and GD&T - Solid understanding of CNC machining processes and shop capabilities - Experience with CNC mills, lathes, and common machining operations - Practical knowledge of tolerances, materials, tooling, and workholding - Ability to plan efficient machining strategies based on real-world shop conditions - Strong organizational and problem-solving skills - Effective communication skills to work with machinist's and programmer's Required Skills: CAD software (SolidWorks), CNC machining processes Important Skills: ERP systems, statistical analysis tools Nice-to-Have Skills: engineering prints interpretation, problem-solving skills, effective communication Benefits: Competitive wage, Flexible work environment, Contributions are recognized and rewarded
