Supply Chain Planner (Starshield)

The Supply Chain Planner (Starshield) role involves supporting the engineering and supply chain teams in managing supply chain processes and inventory for the Starshield satellite constellation, ensuring timely production and quality standards are met. Responsibilities: - Maintain accuracy and audit bill of materials (BOM) in material requirements planning (MRP) systems in preparation for satellite and subassembly rate production - Establish and manage inventory level targets, review line of balances, align demand supply signals and allocations, maintain product master data, and develop expertise in SpaceX software, systems, and reporting tools - Identify and mitigate risk to ensure continuity of supply chain by constructing and executing a supply plan that meets quality standards and production deadlines - Develop an expertise in MRP and triage the signals and understand the matrix to apply your knowledge and educate the teams we support in the proper use of MRP and its benefit to the business - Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality organizations to determine change cut in and reduce obsolescence of material and eliminate/reduce quality issues - Partner with internal stakeholders on implementing advanced supply chain strategies for risk mitigations, such as long-term purchases and strategic safety stock - Proactively manage inventory and prevent stock outs while optimizing the utilization of SpaceX working capital - Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to achieve mission success - Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, government regulations, and laws - Proactively update SpaceX leadership and engineering teams on all critical supply issues - Analyze supply chain data and report on MRP health metrics and their relation to business goals Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of experience working in one or more of the following, or 3+ years of experience working in one or more of the following in lieu of a degree: Engineering, Purchasing, Contract negotiation, Material or production planning, Operations or supply chain management, Material cost control, Master production scheduling - Must be able to travel - Up to 10% of work week travel may be required, including international - Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed - This position is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires being onsite, remote work not considered Preferred Qualifications: - Technical knowledge in a commodity – for example, machining, sheet metal fabrication, tube bending and assembly, weldment assembly, or soft goods - Proven success working on cross-functional new product introduction projects, cost modeling, and negotiation - Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions - SQL experience - PowerBI experience - Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite: Excel/Project and the ability to create pivot tables or macros, and analyze data - Experience navigating multitier bill of materials (BOM) and work orders - APICS certification - Lean Six Sigma certification - Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills - Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment - Understanding of block-chain powered supply chain platforms to boost efficiency, traceability, and transparency Required Skills: Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management Important Skills: ERP Systems, SQL, PowerBI, APICS Certification, Lean Six Sigma Certification Nice-to-Have Skills: Technical Knowledge in Commodities, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Detail-Oriented, Exceptional Communication Skills Benefits: Long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, Potential discretionary bonuses, Ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, 401(k) retirement plan, Short and long-term disability insurance, Life insurance, Paid parental leave, Various other discounts and perks, 3 weeks of paid vacation, 10 or more paid holidays per year, Paid sick leave pursuant to Company policy
