Job Description
Summary: RTX is a company focused on helping the nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. They are seeking a Systems Engineering Intern who will support planning and execution of integration, verification, and flight test activities, as well as troubleshooting and performance evaluations of their products.
Responsibilities:
- Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Flight Test activities in our labs, in the field, or at a test range
- Test event support activity may require travel, which is not expected to exceed 15%
- Support qualification of our products
- Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment
- Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB
- Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a Junior, senior, or post graduate student by the start of summer 2026 in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Exposure to troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, or as part of a hobby
- Exposure to data analysis using tools such as MATLAB
- Active and transferable US government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. US citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3.00 Cumulative GPA preferred
- Active and in-scope US security clearance of Secret or higher
- Experience with or exposure to various military platforms for weapons conveyance, such as ships, ground combat systems, fixed and rotary wing aircraft
- Experience with using telemetry data collection equipment to capture real time data and/or real time monitoring
- Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols
- Experience with reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferred
- Experience with instrumentation and collection of large data sets, including the application of scripting or automation to data collection and analysis
