Job Description
Summary: Pearce Services is a leading technology-enabled provider of asset management solutions for electromechanical infrastructure. They are seeking a skilled Generator Technician to service and repair commercial generators on cell phone towers, requiring a proactive and independent individual willing to travel.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining generators, diagnosing and repairing problems, installing and replacing components or entire systems, and performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment
- Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness, reading and following blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair
- Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for proper operation
- Be responsible for responding promptly/timely to Power/Generator alarms; have the ability to be on call 24/7 if necessary and respond promptly in answering assigned phone and email
- Perform work with the awareness of all potential hazards connected with the installation and maintenance of power supply equipment, switching gear, and other equipment, including but not limited to falls, electric shock, falling objects, and traffic; use safety equipment and utilize safety practices; attend and participate in all designated safety and training meetings
Required Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance
- A minimum of one year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes
- Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair of Generators
- Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components
- Moderate computer skills
- Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations
- Ability to comply with OSHA Standards
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly
- Willingness and ability to drive long distances
- Ability to work day, evening, or night hours; overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned
- Ability to be gone from home for extended periods of time
- Ability to pass a DOT physical
