Job Description
Summary: Pape-Dawson is seeking a paid full-time Land Planner Intern to join their Landscape Architecture and Land Planning group in the Chattanooga office. The role involves working on a broad range of projects focused on public sector work and community planning, including parks and recreation projects and urban placemaking design.
Responsibilities:
- Review planning and design documents throughout a project lifecycle
- Assist communities in pursuing potential grant opportunities and assisting with project grant administration
- Assist in the production of graphics and narrative elements of planning maps, reports and exhibits in InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office platforms
- Assist with coordination and presentations at meetings with clients, design professionals, reviewing agencies, state agencies, development districts, and nonprofit agencies
- Conduct field work, collect parcel data and search land records
- Support senior planners and/or project managers in producing documents for local, state, and federal projects
- Participate in survey development and document community engagement and public input
- Additional related duties as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Working towards a Bachelor's or master's degree in urban planning or related field
- Portfolio of previous project experience, research projects, or past internship projects
- Technical abilities or training aptitude in GIS ArcView, Microsoft Office, InDesign and Photoshop platforms
- Adaptability and time management
- Strong communication and community engagement skills
