Job Description

Summary: Optum is part of one of the nation's leading health care organizations, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, which offers care from over 900 medical providers across 65 specialties. They are seeking qualified candidates for the role of Medical Assistant at varying levels (I, II, III) to contribute to patient care under supervision, with responsibilities increasing at higher levels. Responsibilities: - Provide supportive patient care functions under supervision - Ensure patient safety and comfort in accordance with legal and professional standards - Perform delegated tasks as directed by a physician or RN - Administer injectables and perform advanced clinical tasks - Perform high-level clinical procedures - Serve as a resource for less experienced staff Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED - Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program - No experience required with a certification/registration as a Medical Assistant OR 1+ years of directly related Medical Assistant experience without certification/registration - BLS certification through the American Heart Association - Basic medical/nursing terminology experience - Computer proficiency Preferred Qualifications: - For MA II: Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant - For MA II: 5+ years of directly related experience - For MA III: Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant - For MA III: 8+ years of directly related experience - For MA III: Experience in Ambulatory Care - For MA III: EPIC and Windows-based computer systems experience Required Skills: Medical Assistant certification, BLS certification Important Skills: Basic medical terminology, Computer proficiency Nice-to-Have Skills: Ambulatory Care experience, EPIC experience, Windows-based systems Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, Incentive and recognition programs, Equity stock purchase, 401k contribution
