Job Description
Summary: North Texas Tollway Authority is a political subdivision of Texas focused on acquiring, constructing, maintaining, and operating toll roads in North Texas. The DPS Administrative Technician role provides clerical support to the Department of Public Safety, including data entry, processing public information requests, and assisting law enforcement personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Provides customer service by answering the phone, assisting callers, processing paperwork and requests, writing receipts, locating citation and accident information, entering data, creating and distributing regularly scheduled paperwork and forms, creating and maintaining files, assisting customers with special requests, locating and providing ancillary information to citizens, maintaining the department filing system, typing, printing, and distributing information and correspondence, processing the mail, and maintaining records and filing systems
- Maintains court information by entering citation information, printing and assembling citations, building case reports, processing warrants and related information, locating dispositions, verifying citation information, notarizing and mailing official documents, and logging information
- Completes routing clerical tasks by entering routing information into databases, compiling, and calculating statistics and reports, processing mail, checking and maintaining office supply inventory, answering the phone, and assisting walk in customers
- Assists law enforcement personnel by providing information on citations to drivers, notifying troopers of court dates, copying files, completing paperwork for new personnel, entering trooper information, and reconciling credit and fuel cards, assisting with the preparation of regular meetings, recording minutes, entering time and attendance information
- Operates communication systems (TLETS) by providing information to the courts, maintaining system confidentiality, corresponding with other law enforcement agencies, verifying information, disposing of classified documents, and maintaining deadlines
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- 1 – 3 years' experience
- Proof of US Citizenship - Original certified copy of your birth certificate (no photocopy) or original certified copy of your Naturalization papers (no photocopy)
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass the fingerprint and background check in accordance with the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) security policy and maintain CJIS eligibility
- Ability to perform intermediate Excel functions
