Mechanical Engineer Intern

Summary: Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Mechanical Engineering student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2026. The internship provides an opportunity to gain technical experience in mechanical engineering, working on various projects and collaborating with other disciplines. Responsibilities: - Gain technical experience in the field of mechanical engineering - Sizing of mechanical industrial components - Stress analysis of components - Piping systems - Facilities design - Exposure to quality requirements - Collaboration with other disciplines - Ability to interface with clients and contractors - Follow schedules and budget commitments - Work independently - Possess good written and oral communication skills - Ability to problem solve - Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality Required Qualifications: - Must have graduation date after August 2026 to be eligible - Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program - Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school - Must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship Preferred Qualifications: - Previous internship in Mechanical Engineering - Experience or exposure to AutoCAD is strongly preferred - Local candidates preferred Required Skills: Mechanical Engineering Important Skills: AutoCAD Nice-to-Have Skills: Problem Solving, Written Communication, Oral Communication Benefits: Professional Training and Skill Development, Flexible Work Hours and Paid holidays, Real work on Real client projects, Coaching and Mentoring, Weekly Training Meetings including "Meet the CEO and President", Health insurance, Dental and vision coverage, 401(k), Paid time off (PTO)
