Job Description
Summary: Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Mechanical Engineering student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2026. The internship provides an opportunity to gain technical experience in mechanical engineering, working on various projects and collaborating with other disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- Gain technical experience in the field of mechanical engineering
- Sizing of mechanical industrial components
- Stress analysis of components
- Piping systems
- Facilities design
- Exposure to quality requirements
- Collaboration with other disciplines
- Ability to interface with clients and contractors
- Follow schedules and budget commitments
- Work independently
- Possess good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to problem solve
- Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality
Required Qualifications:
- Must have graduation date after August 2026 to be eligible
- Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program
- Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience or exposure to AutoCAD is strongly preferred
- Local candidates preferred
