Job Description
Summary: Lockheed Martin is working on cutting-edge defense technology, developing solutions for complex national security challenges. They are seeking a DevSecOps Software Engineer to design, develop, and operate a secure, fully-automated infrastructure pipeline, supporting Infrastructure-as-Code development and adhering to high cybersecurity standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and operate a secure, fully‑automated infrastructure pipeline
- Support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) development
- Support DoD STIG compliance, configuration‑management baselines, and continual technology refreshes
- Work with Software and System Engineers supporting the C2BMC program for the Missile Defense Agency
Required Qualifications:
- An Interim Secret Clearance is required for consideration or higher
- A DOD IAT Level II certification is required
- Completion of coursework or certifications covering DevSecOps concepts, scripting, or cloud infrastructure (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Linux Fundamentals, etc.)
- Experience documenting work in Confluence, wikis, or similar knowledge‑base tools
- Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code
- Experience with either Ansible or Python scripting and basic automation of Windows or Linux hosts
- Experience with containers - Docker/Podman
Preferred Qualifications:
- Writing Ansible playbooks/roles, inventory management; Packer image creation (basic Terraform exposure)
- Python scripting for API/automation; Bash & PowerShell basics
- CI/CD pipeline development (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions) with linting, unit tests, security scans
- Familiarity with Kubernetes/OpenShift concepts
- Git version‑control workflow (branching, PRs, code reviews)
- Secret storage via HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault, or AWS Secrets Manager
- STIG compliance tooling (OpenSCAP/InSpec); track drift & raise tickets
- Basic monitoring/alerting (Prometheus/Grafana or ELK)
- Documentation in Confluence/Wiki; user‑guide creation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on small‑to‑medium projects and collaborate within a team environment
