Environmental Health and Safety Internship - Summer 2026

Summary: Kloeckner Metals - Americas is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern to join their team at their Operations Facility in Santa Fe Springs, California. The intern will support environmental audits, inspections, reporting, and EH&S training while helping to maintain a strong safety culture. Responsibilities: - Conduct Safety Inspections: Assist in performing safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards in the workplace - Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze safety-related data, including incident reports and near-miss incidents - Training Support: Help organize and facilitate safety training sessions for employees on various safety topics - Documentation Maintenance: Maintain and update safety records and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations - Safety Equipment Monitoring: Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment - Report Preparation: Aid in the preparation of safety reports and presentations for management - Safety Research: Conduct research on current safety trends and best practices to improve workplace safety - Communication: Assist in communicating safety policies and procedures to employees effectively Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field - Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards - Strong analytical skills for assessing safety data and identifying trends - Good verbal and written communication skills for preparing reports and facilitating training - High level of attention to detail in safety inspections and documentation - Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and individuals Required Skills: Occupational Health, Safety, Safety Regulations Important Skills: Analytical Skills, Attention to Detail Nice-to-Have Skills: Communication Skills, Team Player Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer
