Job Description
Summary: KBR is a leader in delivering full life cycle professional and technical solutions for critical missions, including those for the Department of Defense and NASA. The National Security Solutions – Systems Engineering Intern role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in engineering processes, develop digital engineering techniques, and collaborate on process improvement initiatives within a dynamic team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Gain exposure to current engineering processes and established tools and procedures, while helping to identify opportunities for improvement
- Develop and present a demonstration showcasing innovative Digital Engineering techniques that enhance process efficiency
- Develop digital engineering techniques and artifacts to support Systems Engineering objectives
- Collaborate with other Sustainment IPT teams to support process improvement initiatives
- Supporting transition of systems from acquisition to sustainment by engaging Program IPT stakeholders to support Technical Baseline management and other key project objectives
- Work proactively in a small team environment where individual initiative contributions are highly valued
Required Qualifications:
- Candidate must be pursuing a degree in a technical field (Bachelor's, Graduate's or PhD); must have excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong desire to learn and absorb new information
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Must be able to commit to a minimum 1-semester summer co-op/internship
- Strong work ethics and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must pass a Security Pre-Screen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certification(s) relating to your academic field
- Industry certification relating to your work
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Able to return for a subsequent internship/co-op for the following year
