Environmental Internship (Level 1)

Summary: ECS Group of Companies is a leader in geotechnical, construction materials, environmental and facilities consulting services. They are seeking an Environmental Intern to assist with sampling and assessments of environmental materials, document field activities, and write reports on site activities. Responsibilities: - Sampling and assessments of soil, groundwater, air, and other materials - Observing and documenting field activities - Using field screening equipment and documenting readings - Working with GIS/GPS (a big plus) - Interacting and communicating daily with contractors, technicians and project managers - Writing clear field reports of site activities each day Required Qualifications: - Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering with an environmental focus, Geology, Environmental Science or related degree - Interest in environmental regulations and how environmental issues are related to the construction process - Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - Mileage will be reimbursed - Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height Preferred Qualifications: - Working with GIS/GPS (a big plus) Required Skills: GIS/GPS, Environmental Science Important Skills: Field Reporting, Soil Sampling, Groundwater Assessment Nice-to-Have Skills: Communication, Team Collaboration Benefits: Mileage will be reimbursed
