Intern- Firmware Engineer

Summary: Coherent Corp. is a global leader in lasers, engineered materials, and networking components. They are seeking a motivated Firmware Engineer Intern to join their Firmware team, where the intern will gain hands-on experience in firmware development on optical transceivers and contribute to meaningful projects. Responsibilities: - Develop device drivers for optical transceivers - MCU IDE and Eval board will be used - Work closely with firmware team and MCU vendors - A set of peripheral drivers are expected to be developed for the MCU Required Qualifications: - Education Level Required: Bachelor - Rising Senior (completed 3 years by start) - Majors: Electrical and Computer Engineering - Relevant coursework or extracurricular experience in: Circuit Analysis, Programming in C/Python is a plus - Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date - Excellent written and verbal communication - Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed - Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment - Attention to detail and time management Required Skills: Firmware development, Device drivers Important Skills: Programming in C, Programming in Python Nice-to-Have Skills: Communication skills, Team-oriented, Adaptability, Attention to detail, Time management Benefits: Opportunities to connect with fellow interns and colleagues across the organization through virtual and in-person networking events, Team-building activities, Hands-on project experience
