Intern, Embedded System Engineer

Summary: Coherent Corp. is a global leader in lasers, engineered materials, and networking components. They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Embedded System Engineer Intern to gain hands-on experience and contribute to meaningful projects within their Embedded System team during Summer 2026. Responsibilities: - Evaluate different embedded system development tool chains - Visual studio, Linux, cross-compile, gdb, etc - Team collaboration, data entry, reporting, etc - Weekly report/presentation, final report Required Qualifications: - Must be a junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree - Majors: Computer/Electrical engineering - Excellent written and verbal communication - Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed - Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment - Attention to detail and time management - C/C++, Python - Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date Preferred Qualifications: - Relevant coursework or extracurricular experience in Digital Communication is a plus Required Skills: C/C++, Python Important Skills: Embedded systems, Linux Nice-to-Have Skills: Team collaboration, Attention to detail, Time management, communication, Adaptability Benefits: Opportunities to connect with fellow interns and colleagues across the organization through virtual and in-person networking events, Team-building activities
